What is truth? Today in class we defined it as only existing through sentences. Professor Johnson stated that, “it is a property of a sentence, not the world.” We discussed if we though truth could exist before language. According to our definition, no it cannot. How could there be truth before people could say it was so and write it was so? How we can make truth before this time is to refer back. We can now say that the Grand Canyon was formed by a river or dinosaur once lived on the earth. We now can place truths into the past before there were people. Truth is something created by humans, it is a concept that only the human brain can comprehend because of our use of language.
Question: Is there another way of defining truth where language does not have to be implemented?
