What would the world be like if humans did not always see themselves as superior to other beings? Is it even possible to change these societal thoughts, or are they simply always going to be a part of our nature?
Humans place themselves atop the scale of living things. This is for justified reasons that include, our reining place on the food chain, our capability of reason and knowledge, our creation of language and all the other unique traits that make humans far more advance than all other living creatures. With that being said, we should not simply disregard all other organisms as being disposable. We may not do as we please to them just because of our status. The fact is we are superior. If humans did not think this way, the world would be vastly different. Would we live along side nature harmoniously because there would be no superior beings? Or would there be chaos because no one creature would step up and take control? History has proven that without some sort of order and authority the world will destroy itself.
Humans residing above other living beings is were we have come to as a species. We have evolved above all the rest. We are superior, but we can not let that be the backbone of our decisions. Being human comes with the capability of deciding what is morally right and wrong. We are in charge of keeping balance in the world. Humans take so much from the Earth but are not giving enough back. We need to understand that out planet only has so much to give. Our knowledge and advantages as human beings allow us to work towards saving this planet and living alongside all the creatures that reside within it.
